Texas Has Deregulated Utility Services

When I was offered a position at a business along the Texas and California border, I chose to live in Texas specifically because of their deregulated utility services. I had heard about the wonderful deregulation that went into effect in 2002 but did not live in Texas at the time. It is wonderful to be able to chose which Texas electricity company I want and to pick from a variety of plans that are offered within that company. I can determine the rate that I will pay and have the option to switch to a different company when my contract terms have expired. What a great state Texas is.
